“As we lock the door on our last ‘solo’ day at The Nest we reflect back on the last month where our team and especially our centre director, have worked hundreds of hours putting together the most brilliant and inspiring early learning centre for our new home in Southport… we are super proud of the results and can’t wait to hear the hallways and learning spaces filled with the voices of children, interesting conversations, the laughter and chatter with parents and the running of feet in our amazing outdoor playscapes. We are ‘open for business’ on Monday and look forward to establishing ourselves in the wonderful community of Southport and Benowa over the next few months.”
This was the sentiment held by the staff at The Nest Early Education of Excellence almost 3 weeks ago. The echos of childrens laughter and voices can now be heard throughout the centre and we are delighted beyond words with how far we have come.
Last week some of the children proudly annouced – “this is a fairy castle” – and we agree!
To us children are viewed as competent, curious, full of knowledge, potential and interested in connecting to the world around them. We are deeply aware of children’s potential and construct all of their work and environment of the children’s experience to respond appropriately. We will leave this castle that has been thoughtfully put together to sit where the children created it.. they might like to revisit their castle tomorrow; or tomorrow it might turn into a dragons den.. the possibilities are endless!You can see more of what our clever little poeple get up to here
